About Rudy
Rudy is a six year old black laborador retriever and a certified therapy dog with Dog B.O.N.E.S of Massachusetts. He was born in Texas and transported to Eleventh Hour Rescue in NJ in April 2020. He was adopted upon arrival in NJ, and he now resides in Massachusetts with his human family.
Therapy Dog Visits
Rudy was certified as a therapy dog in June 2022. He regularly visits nursing homes and rehab centers, assisted living facilities, group homes, private homes, colleges, schools and libraries. He enjoys interacting with people of all ages and welcomes pats, hugs and conversation. Rudy's mission is to spread kindness and joy to anyone who wants or needs time with a therapy dog.
Reading with Rudy
The Reading with Rudy program started at a local library in 2023. Young readers ages 5-9 spend time reading and connecting with Rudy. Rudy listens while the children read to him and describe the images on the pages. Often, he will reach out with a paw or the children will instinctly touch him or rest their head on him. Often, Rudy will get so relaxed he closes his eyes and resst his head on a reader's lap.
